I'm sure if half of you met me in person, you'd hate me. I'm just that obnoxious.

When I started at my school we had 500 students (about 2.25 years ago), we just broke 1000 students last quarter. We should get to 1500 quarter after next.

Finding friends are easy, all you have to do is talk to people. Sure that might be hard, but start off loud and annoying and that always gets you in. At least in with the right type of people.

An aura of obnoxiousness? That's hard to beat.

FDD... You need to go somewhere new. Anywhere. Even a place like Rome, Oregon, population unknown (i only noticed two buildings when i drove through a few years ago) would suit you. Change your environment. Hell, move the furniture in your room. It's amazing how much a small change in your surroundings can make you feel better or worse.

That's it! I think i've found one major source of my depression.....my parents. Yes the reason for most of my life I have been unable to do anything outside of the house with my interests involved, my parents say no and force me to stay inside so i can dwell with my games as psuedo-comfort. Just today they piss me off even more as I had finally found some people within a 30-mile radius that actually plays ccgs, d&d, and the like, but my parents won't let me go to their group meeting.....yes I said group. Their reasons "you don't know these people," and "it could be dangerous".....bullshit. Isn't life all about meeting new and interesting people and making friends with those who have similar interests as yourself? But, if I can't then what is there to stop the depression from consuming my life? I'm 18 goddammit, I should be able to do whatever the hell I want.

Wait--you still live at home? Not living at home is half the reason for going to college.

Well it's $1,800 per semester to live out at the dorms, and I know that's cheaper than most universities it's still quite a bit of money.....money we didn't have. Plus I believe in the philosophy that you should stay with your parents for as long as you can so you can have more money when you finally do leave. That and i'm still pissed off at them.

Yeah--I'd say you have a right to be pissed. If you wern't staying at home, they'd be perfectly fine with you going off 30 miles away. Hell, my parents didn't mind me going off 90 miles away without telling them last weekend.
At this point I'd think my kid had enough responsibility and common sense not to get himself killed, but I guess that's just me.

you should tell them you can't go to class because you don't know the people there and it could be dangerous...

money is a huge factor as far as leaving the house...it would cost me more to live on campus than to attend classes (over six grand vs. four thousand something), so i've been doing the same as fdd...

luckilly, as long as the topic of watching cartoons is avoided, my folks are pretty cool...i'd go mad if i was in fdd's position...
