Did anyone else but me get infected with that internet worm that's been spreading that causes your comp to shut down every time you get online?
It says that the NT Authority/SYStem initiated a shut down because the RPC terminated or some crap. I could barely get online till i found the patches and crap from symantec. anyone?

peace

I didn't get it, but I'm good that way. I have a friend who got it though. Even if i did in fact get it, I doub tit would cause a problem in any other OS but XP so it wouldn't bother me too much.

Yea, Its a pretty big worm 100,000+ systems in 24 hours. It attacks the IP address though Ports: TCP 135, TCP 4444, UDP 69 it uses a Random IP address generator to get your IP then tries to send you the worm. Then it messes with your system. Its main purpos is to try and take down the windows updating site by sending tons of data on the 16th.

go to www.norton.com for more info

Make sure you get the patch for windows

I think that was a crack at Windows user.

Tyler is a mac-purist so the virus doesnt effect him one ioda. Except to cause him to laugh with glee.

There is a way to stop the virus and prevent it from happening again.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a phone modem, you'll have to go through all the steps. If you have broadband, you can just skip to step #4 and go on from there. And if you have a firewall or a non-Windows device, don't worry about it.

Ok, I just blocked those ports on my router, so will this do anything noticable besides stop the virus?

Not unless you host Video Game servers or any such. Check out Norton.com for more info on what to do to protect yourself.

To be very safe

GET THE PATCH FROM MICROSOFT!!!

...of course, I also have a PC running Win2k, but I'm smart with my firewall.
