I dunno... that was at least mildly annoying, and required a real super power to stop

Kinda like Black Manta. HA! What am I saying? Aquaman isn't a real superhero.

Because he wasn't comfortable enough in his own self to have the name Sea Man. Duh.

Honestly Doug, I'm dissapointed . . .

I was more saying, that even though his "super powers" weren't all that special, by going out and having the courage to fight and junk, he is a super hero. Considering batman, also without really any powers is considered one

Being the world's greatest detective is a hell of a lot more of a superpower than talking to fish, having a freaking hook, and swimmin' real good.

To me Batman has the superpower of scaring pople. That's good. The dumbest and most annoying superpower is super strength. Goku has it. Superman has it. Vegeta has it. It is so overused it's ridiculous!! Also, having super strength must be boring sometimes."I have superpowers. Yawn. I'll lift a tree or truck. It's the same old same old everyday."

Batman is essentially a good supervillain. He acts like a villain, fights like a villain, thinks like a villain, talks like a villain...good thing he's on our side.

one of the differences that superman has from goku and co. is that he actually is smart in a normal sort of way. One thing that the others don't deal with is having their power shoved right back in their face. Unlike goku superman once negated has to resort to reasoning, deduction, and just outthinking his opponent. Goku just goes "HEI I NEUD TU TRANE SUM MER!"

Have I mentioned yet on these hallowed halls of this forum that I hate Superman? I should have by now. There's just something about him that embodies everything I hate about society in general...although, to clarify, I am a Republican, so that's not it. There are two ways of interpreting Batman and Superman, and they're both somewhat shown by Dark Night Returns...there is the view of Superman as a conservative figurehead who embodies radical fasctist Republicans (hence his appearance in DKR looking a bit too much like Reagan) and that Batman is a sort of oddly militant liberal crusader for the people...the other view, and my theory, is that Supes represents a closet liberal who "fights" for truth, justice, and the American way...but within the limits of political correctness, and Batman is a strange mix of political liberalism (dude HATES guns) and social conservativism...as DKR writer Frank Miller said himself, Superman believes people are basically good and Batman believes firmly in social entropy, which begs the question...which view is conservative and which is liberal?

OK, a bit off-topic and a bit too geeky/political, but it had to be said and I've had just enough coffee to say it.

And thus you have tapped into a problem of our 'great' society: the need for people to call things either conservative or liberal.

Yes. problem. The very spirit of your argument is flawed. People need to stop going by party lines, or by simplistic words such as liberal or conservative, and start using their heads to look at the FACTS and decide what is right and what is wrong. Objectively right and wrong. Not what's best for you, but instead what is MORALLY RIGHT.

Superman was created way back in, I think, the 30s (lil Help Spook, Fodder, or Nubo?). So was Batman. And they have both evolved. Now, I will agree that Superman has rather week motives when one is to compare him with, say, Spiderman. But to say that he sucks because he's concservative?

WTF?

*Sigh*

Good call.
Superman- 1938
Batman- 1939

Question
"With great power comes great responsibility" applies to both of them equally.
When you boil it down, the biggest differences between Superman, Batman and Spider-Man are ones of the methodology used in meeting their objectives.
