If they had all those anime shows on reactor dubbed, and Toonami owned The Reactor, then how come CN can't show Record Of Lodoss War and maybe even Patlabor on Toonami? That is sooo annoying because ROLW is the all time greatest anime ever to come outta Japan, or any other place in the world for that matter...

If anyone knows, please tell me. Did Toonami sell the rights or something? Did they only have usage online and that's it? I would really like to know. Also, what the fuck happened to Reactor anyway? It just disappeared one day... AND NEVER FINISHED PATLABOR!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

There's your answer, right there. Online rights are cheaper than television rights. CN only bought the web rights to that series.

It probably had to do with William's Street putting thier energies into Adult Swim and Adult Swim Pipleline.

"Cheap"? Have you noticed lately how CN has been buying up series right and left like it's going out of style? @_@ Kenshin, .hack, Trigun... and before that Big O 2, Lupin, Inu Yasha, Futurama (which has got to be the most expensive series on the list). Cheap is not the word for CN. They might just not think that RotLW is a good business risk.

it could also have been that they wren't sure about viewers so they put it on reactor. cn might have found that not nearly as many people were watching the shows on reactor as they thought would and decided one of two things (or both) that a) people just didn't like them or b) broadband wasn't as widespread a thing as they thought.

They took the episodes off of Reactor just weeks before I got broadband! That could really tick a guy off, and it did.

Big O season 2 is currently airing in Japan. When Bandai gets around to dubbing it, CN will be playing the show on Adult Swim. That should be sometime this year. CN hasn't played the first season of Big O in a while, I don't know if they're going to play it first... I think the word on the street is that they aren't.

Which is pretty dumb, IMO, since episode 14 (that's how I refer to it, BTW) starts right where episode 13 left off (the 3 foreign Megadeuses rising out of the sea). Time will tell.

I agree completly, they should air the whole series at once... Plus, some people might have missed the old eps.

Some more points:

The broadcast rights to ROLW are/were owned by Studio USA, who usd the first three eps in their old anime showings back in the mid-90's on the Sci-Fi Network.

Now, the reason that I said were is that if I'm not mistaken (and I could be), Studio USA/Sci-Fi had the rights to Armitage III: Dual Matrix as well. Now, TechTV has those rights. And I wouldn't be surprised that TechTV acquired all of Sci-Fi's anime holdings as fuel for Anime Unleashed.

What does this mean? Well, it means that there's a realistic chance that TechTV has the broadcast rights to ROLW.

1) Armitage III POLY-Matrix is on TechTV. Which means that (everything but)Sci-Fi's contract had expired, and was not bought out by TechTV.
2) Lodoss War doesn't fit TechTV's image, so no, I don't think TechTV would ever contract to show ROLW.

They will show Big O to lead up to Big O 2. Its only 13 episodes and its a great lead in. In fact I wouldnt be suprised if they show Big O several times before we get the sequel.

"In other news Toonami veteran Big O will air on Adult Swim at midnight starting July 7th with new episodes starting Sunday August 3rd. You heard me... NEW."

So it looks like they will repeat Big O once before starting the new episodes.
