tuesday night:

the conclusion of this story as well as the "wandering samurai" arc...kenshin treats shura for her gunshot wound as her former crew throws a party in celebration of their uprising...shura chooses to fight them alone, though when she gets in trouble via a cheap shot to her injured leg, kenshin shows up...unlike the expected ending with him kicking ass, one of the lackies decides to light a powerful explosive, taking out the entire town...the good guys get out alright and shura goes on to live her life anew...

pretty standard episode, though it seems odd that there wasn't much kenshin sword-swinging for about two episodes now...shura turned out to be a pretty cool minor character and the plot wrapped up nicely...

wednesday night:

well, it didn't take long to realize the change into the "legend of kyoto" saga as the episode begins with a long flashback to the days of the revolution...we are introduced to saito, a fierce enemy to kenshin back in those days who reappears in hopes of finding him...sanosuke greets him as everyone else is out, and it doesn't take long for a fight to break out...amazingly, sano can't even scratch the guy as saito proceeds to basically tear him apart, leaving him as a message for kenshin when he returns...

wow, i was amazed at what slipped through the censors, though it served well seeing some blood to get an idea of how things were back then...though it's very early, saito has already proven himself a worthy foe as he basically trampled all over sanosuke...

i'm really hoping toonami airs at least a few more episodes...without spoiling anything, there's a great way to end this current run that comes up in 2-3 episodes as it'd be a shame to stop things now (besides cn, you show a clip of the saito/kenshin duel during the "yu yu complete/kenshin next" screen, which is a pretty nasty way to tease us...)

in the event that episodes do start repeating tomorrow, well, guess that's time for me to catch up on trigun...

That was such a kickass episode. And that was the most blood I've seen on Toonami since . . . ever.

Why doesn't Sano use a sword? Either his uber-large one or even a frikken wooden one would make me happy. It seems he puts himself at a disadvantage and it bothers me cuz I like him and I DON"T like to see him get the crap beat out of him.

Well for one he doesn't hasn't used the big sword because it put's him at an even larger disadvantage and the fact that he left it behind when he turned good. It's probably make an appearance later on though.

added to what Zechs said Sano could only swing the Zanbato(sp?) in 2 Directions due it's weight.

I know that, but why can't he use an actual sword? It's just annoying knowing he is a (sorta) skilled swordsman, and yet he limits himself to his fists.

Well how about the fact that swords are still "illegal" and the only way kenshin get's away with it is because he's got connections. If you want to use the arguement of wooden swords, well I'd think his fists are alot more powerful.

HI!
Im new here, I belive that sano isnt really a swordsman he is a fighter. I belive if he were to use a sword He would be at a disadvantage especially against someone like saitoh.

{spoilerish}
From what I remember I don't think his sword shows up ever again.

However, later on he DOES get a kick-ass technique in a very stubborn way.

Peace

Sanosuke is a fighter-for-hire, he only used the Zanbatou because he was fighting Kenshin. When you first see him, he's not using the Zanbatou, he's using his fists. Also, when he fights Kenshin, the way he handles the Zanbatou is not that of one who actually knows swordsmanship.
