Dear Tyler Loch,

This is a notice to warn you that your bandwidth has exceeded the limit specified for your account. Accounts are allowed to exceed this limit, but extra charges may apply. For more information, see our website at www.ev1servers.net. The standard rate for exceeded bandwidth is $0.75 per gigabyte (past the maximum).

Your current bandwidth for server 216.127.64.64 is at 1,024.06 gigabytes of transfer. The maximum for your account is 1,000 gigabytes. (note: current and maximum values apply on a month-to-month basis and do not carry over to the next)
Thank you
EV1Servers.net Support Team

I talked to one of their customer support people, and they said they're not currently charging people who go over their quota unless it's a grossly-high amount. I'm playing it safe by shutting down TDA this month. I might even take down ASF later tonight.

Every time we flirt with our bandwidth quota, EV1Servers (previously RackShack) saves the day by upping the bandwidth limit to all their servers.

When we started out on RackShack, we had 150GB per month. Then it got raised to 300GB before we actually opened.
Then 500GB.
Then 700GB.
Now we're at 1TB.
The TDA network is like a virus. It grows to fill all available bandwidth and hard drive space. Hope for the best, because we'll be hard-pressed to continue on like this.

The next level server is a Celeron 2.0GHz with 1.3TB/month at $119 - $30 more than we're paying now.
...or there's a 1.3GHz Celeron (what we have now) with an unmetered 10Mbps connection for $199.

Rumor has it that all servers will be upped to 1.4TB soon.
I sure hope so.

I guess I shouldn't have downloaded all those Naruto intros and endings last week....

Don't worry Tyler, we still love you, even if you can't give us our media goodness....

See that spike at the end of march? That was me ^_^

I'm guessing you can make it, but the real question is: the bandwidth usage is on an exponential increase, so how long will it be before you do upgrade the servers...again?

I'm curious as to what kind of loss TIL runs at with the ads at the top now? Are we talking pocket change or a hundred dollars a month?

I'd rather pay 30 bucks a month than beg for peoples' money.

The ads for TDA, ASF, Infolink and the Forums (hereby known as the TDA Network) all go into one account.
$89/month provides the one server that hosts all those sites.

In order of average moneymaking:
TDA
ASF
Infolink
Forums

And like the main TDA page says, we actually made a profit this month.
$103.96 dollars to date.
Since I only get paid every month my balance reaches over $100, I'll be getting a nice $165 check in a few weeks.
