I should get to doing this more often… once a month just won’t cut it.
ADV Films New Title Solicitations: Right Stuf has the slightly more detailed word on what to expect from ADV Films come October, which includes a number of thinpak'd sets that deserver a closer inspection from people who passed them over the first time, such as Jing, Aquarian Age, Kino's Journey and Wild Arms:
AnimEigo New Title Solicitations: According to an update at Right Stuf, the retail dates have been set for the final two "sets" of Urusei Yatsura releases in their single form:
Bandai Entertainment New Title Solicitations: Bandai's got some new solicitation information up via Right Stuf as well as a few confusing things. It appears that their Anime Legends edition of s-Cry-ed will be two discs worth of episodes as is the apparent release of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam to the market outside of its LE box set. That would make it a five disc release instead of the ten in a sense:
FUNimation New Title Solicitations (02:42 PM EST): Right Stuf has updated with a number of new solicitations from FUNimation for October, including a few choice box sets:
Media Blasters New Title Solicitations: Collections abound just in time for the holiday season and Media Blasters isn't missing out on this with some economy-priced collections sure to make it under a few trees:
Right Stuf New Title Solicitation: Getting another of their own titles out onto the market, Right Stuf brings this series to a close in October:
Piano Vol. #3 - 75 minutes - $29.98 – 10/25/2005
Also- according to a post from Right Stuf on the AoD forums, their 08/30/2005 release of the Gravitation OVA series has been delayed to 09/13/2005. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Two major hits from Disney's late 80s/early 90s Disney Afternoon block, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers and DuckTales, have been scheduled for a DVD release on November 8. Hopefully, more shows from DA will be released in the near future if all goes well.
FUNimation New Title Solicitations: Right Stuf has listed a few new titles due from FUNimation come November:
Kiddy Grade DVD Set 1 - 150 minutes - $29.98 - 11/22/2005
Kiddy Grade DVD Set 2 - 150 minutes - $29.98 - 11/22/2005 Samurai 7 Vol. #3 (also w/limited edition) - N/A minutes - $29.98/49.98 - 12/13/2005 Tenchi Muyo GXP DVD Set 1 - 200 minutes - $29.98 - 11/22/2005
Tenchi Muyo GXP DVD Set 2 - 150 minutes - $29.98 - 11/22/2005 YuGiOh Vol. #33: A New Evil - 60 minutes - $14.98 - 12/06/2005
For those curious, the new Kiddy Grade and Tenchi Muyo GXP releases are 2-disc repackagings of the original DVD's, a la ADV's Saiyuki Double-Barrel Collections. No boxsets for either series are expected until later in 2006.
Geneon Entertainment New Title Solicitations: The early solicitation information has come out from Geneon regarding their December and early January titles:

This just in... according to a trailer on Disney's Ghibli DVD website, Howl's Moving Castle and Disney's release of My Neighbor Totoro will be available in "Spring 2006". *sigh*
Also, it looks like Bandai has added some more of their holiday boxsets to the retail channel, including one that should get WhtHawk's attention:

ADV Films New Title Solicitations: Right Stuf has the detailed information up on the November slate of titles from ADV Films:
Bandai Entertainment New Title Solicitations (04:15 PM EDT): Right Stuf has updated with what we can expect to see from Bandai come December this year:
CPM Talks Announcements, Confirmations, More: Company representative Peter Tatara, who has been very active in the AoD forums as of late, has updated with a lot of information about their convention panel during Otakon.
Anime License News:
- "We're releasing VOTOMS in a single, massive boxset. Is it remastered? It is dub and/or sub? We're still working everything with the release out and a number of meetings need to be had."
- "Animation Runner Kuromi 2, which got just a wonderful, wonderful round of applause (thank you) is Akitaro Daichi's Tokyo Anime Fair winning follow up his original Animation Runner."
- "Munto 2 is Kyoto Animation's second entry into its Munto OAV series. Kyoto Animation is a small husband and wife run anime studio in Kyoto. After completing the original Munto, they asked fans of the title to help finance a sequel. Japanese fans donated an overwhelming amount of capital toward the project."
- "Outlanders is an ancient, classic title that was all the rage long ago before the intention of the internet and DVDs. It's a risque comedy about world domination. There've been questions about if the DVD will have the original dub or a new dub or both. I know what you (and I) would prefer, and I will push for it."
Discotek Media To Do Anime: According to some information received by the folks at Discotek Media, their plans are getting firmed up for bringing over a number of live action Japanese movies as well as several anime films. Their first releases are live action in nature but they have a number of anime titles in the queue as well.
- "We're going to be putting out the classic anime films Animal Treasure Island, Puss 'n Boots, and Taro the Dragon Boy. They all will have the original Japanese language, anamorphic widescreen, and the English dub." These are the movies that were released in the 70's but they also have some more recent and surprising material as well, such as Lupin the 3rd Strange Psychokinetic Strategy (Rupan sansei: Nenrikichan sakusen), Lupin the Third Legend of the Gold Babylon (Rupan sansei: Babiron no Ogon densetsu) and Lupin the Third Fuma Conspiracy (Rupan sansei: Fûma ichizoku no inbô). They have a number of titles set for release across the end of this year and into late next year and AoD will update as they get more firm information.
Right Stuf New Title Solicitation: Following-up on their ultra edition of the TV series, Right Stuf has laid out their plans for the OVA release:
Irresponsible Captain Tylor OVA Limited Edition Ultra Box Set - 455 minutes - $69.95 - 11/08/2005
TOKYOPOP New DVD Solicitation: While checking out other items on their site, Chris Beveridge noticed that they provided information for the second and final volume of the series:
Psychic Academy Vol. #2 (W/Manga) - 105 minutes - $24.99 - 11/15/2005 _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

A blatent copy of Anime on DVD's info posted during the last two weeks follows:
Bandai Entertainment New Title Solicitations: Right Stuf has updated with a couple of last minute announcements for Bandai during one of the quietest weeks of the year:
Dan Doh!! Vol. #1 - 250 minutes - $29.95 - 12/27/2005
Galaxy Angel A DVD Complete Collection - 350 minutes - $34.95 - 12/27/2005 Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Vol. #3 (Regular Release) - 250 minutes - $34.95 - 12/27/2005
Central Park Media Announces More Cuts: Sometimes the word "cut" can be used in a good way. According to the December release update list from Central Park Media, they have a new round of titles being reduced in price:
- The Maze OVA release is dropping to 9.95 while the 4 disc box set of the TV series is being reduced to 39.95
- Demon City Shinjuku has dropped to 9.95
- Legend of Himiko's individual volumes have dropped to 9.95 each while the three volume box set is reduced to 29.95
Geneon Entertainment New Title Solicitations: An interesting assortment of titles for late January and early February direct from Geneon today...
And no, I have no idea where the first Trigun edition is because I haven't seen a solicitation on it yet. I will say however that this is one series that was in desperate need of a remasters and for the original openings to be restored, never mind getting a bump up to 5.1 sound created in Japan specifically for this series. We'll have more on that first edition, a presumed December release, when we find out more.
Geneon Anime Music New Title Solicitations: Barebone information came down for these titles but we're expecting them to hit in January:
Ah! My Goddess the TV Series Original Soundtrack - $14.98 - 01/03/2006 Revolutionary Girl Utena: Angel Creation - $14.98 - 01/03/2006
Hellsing OVA Release Set in Japan: While the Geneon Entertainment Japan site is still under construction, information has appeared there and at CD Japan for the first volume's release. A limited edition volume at ¥7500 and a regular edition at ¥5700 will be released on 12/09/2005. Information is sparse at the moment but the release is 35 minutes long, 16:9 anamorphic widescreen and in some 5.1 audio format. The only difference so far listed on the pages seems to be the limited edition has four more pages in its booklet but there's presumably more to it than that. No release date has been set for the US yet.
Right Stuf New Title Solicitations: Bringing one of the more interesting series to a close later this year, Right Stuf has a couple of new titles of their own solicited this evening:
Kimba the White Lion Ultra DVD Box Set Limited Edition - 1345 minutes - $129.99 - 11/29/2005 Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars Vol. #5 - 125 minutes - $29.99 - 11/29/2005
Super Techno Arts Update: According to an update at AAA Anime, Super Techno Arts has set some dates for the final two volumes of the OVA series Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Previously solicited for release on 11/15/2003, Volume #5 will now arrived on 09/20/2005.
Volume #6 will follow a month later on 10/25/2005. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Oh god, they want me to buy Trigun again? After all that time I took to track down the limited-edition original releases with the shiny foil covers?

Don't worry, you don't have to fall for it.
This release only offers 5.1 Dolby Surround audio tracks, restored original episode openings, new package art and a necklace all wrapped up in a shiny steel keepcase...

The cult animated series Aeon Flux will be released as a comprehensive box set by MTV Home Entertainment on Nov. 22, to capitalize on the Dec. 2 opening of the live-action theatrical version starring Charlize Theron.
Supervised by series creator Peter Chung, Aeon Flux: The Complete Animated Collection (available now; $38.99) contains every short from the MTV series Liquid Television as well as the 10 full-length episodes of the Flux series. Also included are two featurettes and inside glimpses at the animation process, as well as footage from Chung's other work in short animation and commercials.
"One of the biggest differences about the episodes as they appear here," says Chung, "is the picture quality. We went back to the original 35mm negatives and transferred them at [high-definition] video resolution. The picture and audio quality is better than it has ever been."
In case viewers are still puzzled and want to learn more about La Femme Flux, they can consult the package's first featurette, "Investigation: The History of Aeon Flux," which consists of interviews with Chung and his principal collaborators. "Desiderata: The Deviant Devices of Aeon Flux," narrated by Denise Poirier (the voice of the character), provides fanboys and girls with "a catalog of all the strange gadgets, weapons, and vehicles in the series," says Chung.
Though he wasn't involved in the creation of the forthcoming theatrical feature, he does have good news for fans of the animated Aeon: "We're talking about bringing her back in animated form. MTV wants to wait and see how the box set and the movie do with audiences, but it will happen, in one form or another." _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015
