Post subject: So...are we still dead?

T:DA looks a bit depressing at the moment, what with Beefy's update about his dead capture card right underneath the "Toonami Infolink is dead right now" thing. One of those may be true, but the Infolink's been functioning alright since the hack attack in March, so when can our condition be upgraded to 'alive'? _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

That's up to Zogg.
I think the banner's been disabled since the November 2005 hack. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I don't know about alive, how about undead?
-------------------
It's hard to find a good FireWire capture device these days. Most don't have drivers, so the computer thinks it's a DV camcorder, which makes it hard to control.
I tried a USB 2.0 device and was not impressed. Got scan lines and aliasing in the test videos.
A last resort might be a PCI capture card.

What was your workflow before?
I always used a DV capture device that shows up as a camcorder, and used iMovie to capture.
...and nobody's complained about that Infolink thing before, and I never felt like fixing it when I noticed it.
It's back to normal now. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

I know I e-mailed Zogg about it, but he wasn't too concerned. It was more important to make sure everything was stable. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I must have an older version of iMovie. Whenever a capture device shows up as a camcorder, the preview window is blank, and all clicking the control buttons does is lock up the program.
I've been using Pinnacle Studio, which shows the box as a capture device and gives me controls to select the input source: composite or S-Video, and lets me adjust the input brightness, contrast, gamma, and hue. On the audio side I can adjust the volume level of the input. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

While we're on the subject of updates, Beefy: Did you receive that Email with the ZIP file you requested a couple of weeks ago? _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |
