See I go back and I watch some of the old animations and I can see the flaws. Such as eyes that arent aligned in Robotech:Macross. But then you see the love drawn into the mechanical bits and you understand what caught your attention.

I can go back to even normal TV shows i remember as being great when i was a kid and watching them with a "WTF?! I was thinking". Knight Rider is a great example of this. Watch an episode with a fun sterotype character.

Some animes and cartoons stand the test of time. Ninja Scroll and Akira look just as good today as they did then. Fist of the North Star (the original not the crappy remake) looks like hell compared to todays anime. I can imagine some of the younger kids here saying "Hey they ripped off DBZ!" when watching it not realizing it predates Dragonball by a good 10 years.

But go back and watch Transformers the Movie and watch those first 20 minutes when it wasnt trying to sell toys. It was ending the toy lines. Watch the first couple of seasons of GI Joe and listen to storylines about Cobra abducting their families!!!

Its a matter of perspective really. Its hard to remember what the NES was like sitting next to an Atari 2600 if you werent there. Im not that old actually. But you have to put it in the context of when it was released.

Yes your allowed to have your oPPinion (OPP but you know me). And we are allowed to have ours. But in a forum like this it exists to discuss these kinds of things.

I beat up DBZ but im a big fan. Likewise I like Neon Genesis but thought episode 26 was crap. I loved Full Metal Alchemist but its last episode if crap (no spoilers in replies for those still watching). Sometimes the story lines outweigh the animation. I guess thats what im trying to get out. And sometimes the other way around.

DBZ - visuals
Neon Geneises Evangelion - storyline
Chobits - um... you decide
Hentai - I read it for the articles
