To all of you who dont know or maybe unfortunate to not have the channel. Techtv has a latenight anime line up for weeknights and on Saturdays. And recently there was a show that was short and sweet that has a run similar to Big O, due to the fact that it was short. So to anybody who has seen the show Dual! Parallel Adventure! I want to hear your opinoins if you think that the show could have gotten better acclaim on the Toonami block or on Adult Swim. Therefore, to anybody who has not seen the show, I suggest you check it out, it was an incredible short 13 episode show that mixes comedy and mecha. Although, some people tried to give diss on it saying that it was copying evangellion and Tenchi Muyo, but that is unfair, due to the fact it was pretty much the same creators.

But, to those who loved, enjoyed, or liked it. I just want to hear your opinons on the show and whether or not that if it was picked up by CN if it could have blown up and even have them create a new season like they did for Big O.

Ahh, the return of the Dual! thread...

Was it a great show? Yes.

Would it have been bigger if shown on CN? Yes.

Should it be continued? No. The story's told, with a satisfying conclusion in episode 13.

Nice use of colored text. That same line of thinking could be added to Big O couldnt it? Adding more seasons can be a good thing if its done right. Spin offs dont always work either. Think about a spin off with just Edward about her new life. That wouldnt work. I still love the rumor about one having a prequel with Jet in his detective days. See I think that would work. It was an emsemble cast and im just rambling but i think that could be done in the same way as Bebop.

Sure, if it's
1) necessary (ending on cliffhangers sucks), or
2) executed brilliantly

In Big O's case, I think it was crying out for continuation. Whether it's been done well is a different debate. At least I'm here for the end. Very Happy

TechTV's anime sucks for one reason. It never tells you what you're watching unless you know already. Frickin hell, all they ever label everything single piece of their anime is Anime Unleashed. At least they should just make a block out of it and so it wouldn't be so bad.

Dual would have been denouced as a Tenchi clone if it was on CN. Besides, that really funny scene in the last episode (the R-rated scheme to get the hero to marry Mitzki Ra-Ra) would have been cut.

It's rather ironic that you say that, considering that episode 13 wasn't in the original run, but was included in the laserdisc release after fans demanded more closure. ("More closure?" Okay, so I don't talk Engish good.)

"Evangelion Lite... just one calorie, not 'Eva' enough..."

that just about sums up my opinion of Dual!, as much worthier Eva-clones exist out there, like Gasaraki and RahXephon...

would Dual! have done better on Toonami? Probably. It's certainly light enough a series that it wouldn't necessarily drive away the usual Toonami kids... 'cuz lord knows RahXephon and Evangelion don't belong on Toonami (no matter how much people would like to believe)...

I'm sure you mean episode 14, the one that Beat's talking about.
