Anyone else remember this? Saturday mornings were awexome! I mean they had Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and I think they showed Medabots - not sure though, it's been a while.

It died when SVES started though, and there was much sadness in my house. Crying or Very sad

You mean around 1999, when Toonami would go on till 2AM. I remember there was a huge Sailor Moon marathon, and also a DBZ marathon.

laughing man i remember that too, but that is different from what hes talking about. As nice as it is reminiscing about the past perhaps we should think about the future of toonami more.

Nope. CN never had the rights to Medabots.

Personally, I didn't like Super Saturdays all that much. It was mostly just a filler block for DBZ reruns so Kellner & Co. can milk the hell out of Toonami's most popular franchise.

The block didn't show any signs of potential until it reached near the end of its run. A Samurai Jack marathon, the final 4 episodes of Zoids: Guardian Force, and a .hack//SIGN preview were all the block was ever good for.

Actually, that block was called the Midnight Run, not Super Saturdays. And it ran till 5AM.

well it was technically the ending of guardian force. Zoids chaotic century and Zoid Guardian Force are considered two different series that occur on the same timeline.

Back in 2000, yes.

It was cancelled shortly after Kellner took over Turner in March 2001. It then resurfaced on late Saturday nights from 2-3AM in 2002.

Before the RS resurfaced, another Saturday Toonami block called Super Saturdays emerged in October '01.

I would watch every Saturday morning.

I seem to remember it starting in 2002, though.

It grew an extra hour in 2002, if that's what you're probably thinking.

I'm sorry, DB was not run into the ground. There were a few episodes that I missed and never caught. DBZ was TOTALLY run into the ground. But Dragon Ball? I entirely disagree.
