Does anyone know if Toonami has the whole series or just Rurouni Kenshin and the Wandering Samuria?

I mean the Wandering Samurai is Good, but the best series is Legend of Kyoto, I hope for all of you that they have them all, because the show gets Very addicting.

I believe the press release stated all 95 episodes would be shown.

ha, nice gif there zechs...can't help but laugh at those three "symbolic" images representing what happened...

as far as the series current run, last time i checked the schedules it was going into the 30's episode-wise, meaning it would at least begin the legend of kyoto arc...then again, we're talking cn here, so it's almost a given something will change between now and then, though i am pretty sure that all 95 episodes were acquired by the network...

monday:

the ryjuuta/yutaro arc comes to a close as yutaro learns of his sensei's true intentions, yet continues to believe in him...kenshin comes across the battleground and stops the fighting long enough to challenge ryjuuta to a duel, promising to end the battle if he comes out victorious...yutaro wishes to stop the fight between the swordsmen, and when he refuses to get out of the way, ryjuuta nails his right arm with his technique, causing some severe damage but also giving away said technique to kenshin...after some back and forth, kenshin prevails, but we learn that yutaro's arm is in seriously bad shape, and he prepares to go to germany in hopes of getting it repaired...him and yahiko have a tearful farewell (or something like that) and it appears life goes on for the kenshin group...

while i thought the fight was pretty good, it seemed like ryjuuta's original intentions were to be more powerful than he came across...we see just how devoted he is to his goal when he takes down yutaro, but he really fails to give kenshin too much trouble...eh, maybe we're still just building up kenshin as the swordsman you don't wanna mess with or something...

the ending sequence between yutaro and yahiko was a nice touch though, as most of the episode had a serious tone and this was a good return to the "casual" feel of the show...

oh, and if anyone here knows any info about the box sets for this series, please feel free to inform me and the others, because i'm just about set to buy the individual dvd's here...

I didn't really like Ryjuta(sp?) as avillan he just seemed bland and thoughtless and his attack style was based more on fantasy than anything.

tuesday night:

the kenshin gang takes a trip on the new steam-powered train, as western technology continues to make its way into japan...of course, something so peaceful won't work with this show, and we find that a bunch of crooks are attempting to disconnect a car with a rich guy (and his riches)...yahiko and kenshin find out about this, but kenshin gets knocked off the train into the water...

a stack of logs forces the train to stop, and pirates begin to descend upon the train...kenshin catches up via horse, and the kenshin group proceeds to take care of the threat, with kenshin removing the roadblock as only he can...

this is the episode i usually pick on...the animation felt off as compared to the beautifully drawn yutaro arc, and kenshin arriving with a horse from out of nowhere seemed a bit tacky to me...still, there's one reason why i can still enjoy this episode: sanosuke...he had me in stitches this entire episode, from wanting to get off the train, his paranoid views on cameras and steam engines, and his expression in the picture at the end...sano allowed me to get past my gripes and enjoy what this episode had to offer...

unfortunately, it seems i'll be taking a break from reviews soon (assuming cn does start repeating this arc again), but i guess that way i won't fall so far behind with my trigun reviews (not to mention watching yu yu and inuyasha...)

God, those Toonzone people are paranoid and greedy. When was the last time CN ran a show through two seasons before repeating. They always do it this way to extend the life of the show and we should still be happy we got kenshin in the first place. All people ever seem to do is complain that Toonami hasn't got any new shows when just in the last MONTH they got two new series and the final eps of DBZ.

Yeah I have to agree with you Zechs. And I couldn't help laughing at poor Sanosuke. The guy could stare death in the face but he fears a camera. How can you not laugh at that.

yea, it's a shame too, since there are many intelligent posters over there that get overshadowed by the more paranoid/imaginitive...i have to admit though, it's fun reading some of their theories on why certain events happen...

as for my review of wednesday's episode, it's not gonna happen since my vcr didn't tape it (i don't wanna get into the reasons, but let's just say a family member decided to go in my room when i wasn't around and the tape wasn't in the vcr at 6:30)...i'm guessing this episode was the introduction to sano's friend from the past, but rather than attempt to review from memory and possibly spoil something, i'll just take things from thursday's airing...

thursday night:

sanosuke chooses to embrace his past over his present, giving his friends one big party as a send-off...with everyone passed out, he meets with his friend and they go off to take down their first target...of course, kenshin's there to meet them, and we get sano vs. kenshin round 2, with kenshin taking another victory...the two former members finally realize the error of their ways, as an attack would have labeled their clan as the "false army" they were trying to clear in the first place, and things mostly return to normal...

nice to see that toonami's not insulting our intelligence by getting drunk on 'tea', though i can just imagine a little kid asking their mom if they can drink some sake...that whole party scene was great for a laugh, with yahiko getting slammed by megumi and sano as well as the whole karou/megumi thing...

the fight was also well done as the nightfall gave a perfect atmosphere for it...the ending was kind of sudden, but brought up a good point as to why kenshin got himself involved...though i wish i coulda seen wednesday's episode (mainly for the "you jerk"/"you idiot") lines, i'm glad i caught the end here...

friday night:

after being chewed out by karou for being a bunch of freeloaders, kenshin, sanosuke, and yahiko take a job protecting a ship as it delivers cargo...in an odd (read: expected) twist of fate, karou is working on said ship and the gang hits the waters...the pirates come and when their leader mentions that she can never find a decent challenge in a fight, well, i think you can see where this is going...kenshin is poisoned before their fight, yet is still able to defeat her...

as the pirates leave, one takes karou as a "souvenier"...kenshin pleads for her to be spared and he is forced to take her place as karou joins up with sano and yahiko...

i think this is the last story of the "wandering samurai" arc, so if toonami starts reairing episodes, it'll be soon...as far as the episode goes, we get the humorous beginning with karou's rant and the serious ending with kenshin being taken away, powerless to do anything after being crippled by a poisoned dart...the leader of the pirates seems interesting enough, as she appears to abide by an honor code ("no killing women or children"), so there's a good possibility things could get interesting...

Today's episode kicked ass, in my opinion. The fight at the end was superb. It's always fun to watch Kenshin beat on peons.

monday night:

kenshin gets to see first-hand just what shura and her group of pirates are up to: apparently they pillage only those ships with questionable means of riches in order to support themselves...shura appears to follow by an honor code, though her crew seems less enthused...

shura and kenshin have some interesting dialogue here, as she struggles with the notion of kenshin freely giving his life for karou...meanwhile, her crew goes behind her back and plans a mutiny...kenshin is able to step in after she gets shot, but is forced to leap off a cliff into a pretty steep waterfall...

it was almost eerie to see how peaceful kenshin was as he contemplated his life ending...shura also seems to be developing into a likeable character, as there was a sense of realism in her emotions as she tried to grasp kenshin's ideals...the plot with the crew could be seen coming a mile away, but the extent of their plan appears interesting enough...of course, karou, sanosuke, and yahiko aren't that far behind either, so tomorrow should be good...
