Growing up the only anime I saw was whatever broadcast TV eked out to us (long live StarBlazers!). Then I moved into an area with Cartoon Network (everyone here knows what I've been exposed to since). Now I'm in an area where I have to have satellite and I'm being killed with kindness! My VCR runneth over. I'm finding anime on channels I've never heard of.

Please help me use my time wisely.

Tech TV: they have Toonami-like timeslots called Anime Unleashed (can't help but think 'Bingo-night, unleashed!').
4:30p Crest of the Stars
3:00a Soul Taker (there was a two hour block of this last Fri. Weird/jumpy-then-frozen animation, but I'm sticking it out)
3:30a Silent Mobius

Action channel: just saw a full length movie called 'Metropolis'. The animation had me thinking of that Kim Basinger/Brad Pitt movie some years back. Nothing great in the story line (a man's ambitions lead to his downfall, with androids thrown in).

This is part public service and part cry for help. Where else can we find animation (good, bad or ugly) and what are the good shows?

the only channel I get that shows anime (besides the networks that have anime in their kid blocks) is CN, so I'll let the other folks here tell ya what other channels have anime

about Metropolis, though...I LOVE that movie, it was the first anime movie I saw in the theatres; the animation wasn't to everyone's taste, but I thought it was a beautifully animated film with good dialogue and characterization

www.animeontv.com

This site has listings and schedules for nearly every anime shown on American TV.

Outside of CN and the other ones you've mentioned. The Internationl Channel showcases unedited anime. HBO has the rights to a few movies like Princess Mononoke, and Ninja Scroll. The Action Channel has Anime every weekend. and other Movie Channels such as Showtime and Cinemax have the occasional movie too.

For those who dont know. Action is one of the Starz movie channels. When i had stars it was the one I watched the most. But at the time they were limited to Sol Bianca, Pat Labor 2, and Macross 2 it seemed.

Actually it's Encore, which is a subsidiary of Starz! But it's not Starz seeing as Action is free and Starz is not.

Why thank you Zechs, I never knew that site existed.

What cable/satellite provider gives you Action Channel for free? I know mine doesn't. The Starz/Encore channels are all combined into one expensive package.

Sad Nope same here

But the free weekends are always good. Even though cable does get both I'd never switch. I hate how long the channels take to load, how tacky the ads are, and the lack of quality.

DirecTV is awesome.

I don't know if it counts, but Tokyo Pig is fun even while sober.

Ultimate MUSCLE is fun to a point too.

And hey, SpikeTV's BOUND to start buying anime series rather than just making new dreck like the new Ren and Stimpy. If they're gonna rip off Adult Swim they might as well do it properly.

BTW, wasn't SciFi going to air Dirty Pair or something like that? That still happening?

That turned out to be a false rumor. It's not happening.
