As some of you are probably aware, a copy of the first episode of Family Guy Season 4, "North By North Quohog", was leaked online.

(No, I'm not going to post where you can get it. But if you ask nicely in a PM, you could tempt me into telling you...)

So, for those of you who have seen it...

  • The opening was perfect - exactly how you would expect Seth to play it.
  • It was odd seeing a Family Guy ep with semi-topical jokes (remember, Family Guy was on hiatus for about 3-4 years...)
  • While it was nice to see some of the semi-regular characters like the Evil Monkey and Ollie The Angry Black Weather Guy, I wish we would have seen some of the neighbors - after all, they're core characters in the series as much as the Griffin clan is.
  • The Pinocchio clip was funny, yet disturbing...and it reminded me of an old dirty joke regading the little puppet.
  • Three words: clerical collar shuriken.
  • Two more words: punishment forecast.
  • And it's great to have more Family Guy...god knows we needed it.

It was alright (and certainly better than American Dad).
I thought the comedic timing was a little off in spots, but it's just a matter of Seth & Co. getting back into the swing of things.

Bright spots for me:

- The "Honeymooners" bit.
- The "Kucinich '04" bumper sticker on Brian's car... Wait, Brian has a car?!
- Getting Flint's original voice actor for the PSA bit. Laughing
- The entire "North by Northwest" cribbage
- And yes, clerical collar shurikens Cool

Not just any car - it looks like he's driving a Prius.

Lucky bastard.

Were all those canceled shows real? Some of them (Skin, Firefly, a few others) were obviously real but some of them sounded kinda weird.

Question of the week: Does the sequel to Passion of the Christ REALLY exist? Wink

I'm 99% sure that all of those were Fox shows. The opening was my hands down favorite part. It was so funny, because it was so true. And throwing the word "quality" into the "We've been cancelled by Fox to make room for quality programming" was so, so good. I'm glad to see that Family Guy hasn't lost it's touch. It does feel different, I'm not gonna lie. But at least it doesn't suck. And coming back after 3 years away, you have MUCH potential to suck.
