You gotta love Adult swim. If I remember correctly they once had a card of how they wil take over CN and have adult swim 24/7

Paradise.

As for samurai champloo, I was worried at what was going to replace Ghost In the Shell, but im relieved now. Samurai champloo is kickass.

I love it.

Can anyone tell me if there were any edits? I didn't notice any in last night's partially-brothel-themed episode. Also, something I think I noticed in a previous episode, and I don't know the characters' names so that makes htis though, but the main-character with the wild hair (David Blum's voice?), is his sword double sided? As in NOT a katana?

Not sure about the double sided. Because he does turn it before a fight at one point. Which reminded me a lot of Kenshin's backwards blade. Hope that helps to answer it a little better.

I have the fansub episodes. When I watch tonights i'll go back and see if i can spot anything.

Most i can tell you about the sword is the hilt is fashioned like a jitte or more like a modified western claymore used to block and deflect a slash .

It's definitely not a katana. And considering Mugen's from Ryukyu, his sword design is probably influenced by Chinese weaponry.

Well, the link leads to a bit about a PLACE, so I don't think it's a fighting style . . .

Yeah, his fighting "style" is more like break-dancing.

I was referring to the fact that historically Okinawa and the other Ryukyu islands have been more culturally influenced by China than Japan, at least up until the Meiji era, IIRC, so it would follow that his sword would be closer in style to something Chinese than a traditional katana.

Of course, I could be completely wrong about the whole thing.
Like I care. Enjoy the show. Wink

Well Ryuku the place, well the island, comes up as a plot point around episode 14. Id be curious to hear if what they say about the island is true. Think of it as a Japanese version of early australia.

BTW there is a real love of prosititution in this series. Which is again going to test Cartoon Network. Im up to episode 19 now and I can say that besides two catch up episodes (11 and 18) its a really good series.

I only have 8 more episodes to go to see this one to the end. And i can see where the plot is already pointing for all three characters. Its been a fun ride.

Im starting to love fansubs. Now to find a new obsession after this ones over. Paranoia Agent and S-Cry-Ed didnt do anything for me in their first episodes. But im going to keep up with them. Something tells me Im kinda the target audience for Paranoia Agent.

MOD EDIT: Just disabled the smiles so the 18 didn't turn into 1SMILEYFACEWITHSUNGLASSES. Ne're you mind, all.

........I LOVE THIS SHOW.

As far as I can tell, no blood was painted out of last night's ep. At least, I don't think there was any. Granted, I haven't seen the un-dubbed version, but I can't imagine putting in more blood than that.

Seriously, I'm in love with this show.

So am I CP. Everytime I sit down to watch an episode I end up watching through three or four to see what happens next.

I had thought the mixing of modern times and the time period they are in would get taxing. But it has been handled very well.

Seven more episodes to see the end of it for me

How many eps are there total? Someone gave me the first 22, but I'm trying to watch them as they come to Cartoon Network. HAven't watched a single one on my computer yet. I prefer dubs to subs, especially good dubs like this. I'm really enjoying the series in a weekly fromat.

Did anyone else think that, when teh ended the episode last week, where Jin and Mugen are facing off, it looked as if Jin (at least, I think it's Jin. The dignified one, not the reckless one.) is poised to slash straight across Mugen's chest and just PWN him? I mean, I know they're pretty even and all, but to me it just looked like Jin was about to own his ass the instant they cut it and put "To Be Continued".

Well, as far as i'm concered, ronin > badass....

That being said, I am thoroughly enjoying this show. I wish I had more to say, but my head is swimming with euphoria from the show and being sick at the same time.

Jin should win the battle. But they are pretty equal and there are a couple other battles that Jin is tested well.

26 episodes- my episode 26 is actually labeled as [FINAL]
