Seeing as how music news doesn't fall into any thread we got so far I made up this one. Think of it like Daikuns failed "sound thread" only better as it is for news, general music discussion, and various otehr music related things.

Metallica has announced that their new album, ST. ANGER, will come packaged with a free DVD. The DVD will feature the band playing all eleven songs on the album with new bassist Robert Trujillo. The album is set to drop June 10.

This isn't really NEWS, but something I've noticed. Whether you like them or not, Linkin Park seem to be anime fans. If the cover of the Reanimation cd (anime-looking mech) didn't prove it, their new video does. It's directed by one of their members (Mr. Hahn) and on the dresser, in the Guys room, there are completed Gundam model kits, from various gundam series. Plus, in one of their new songs, they use a Japanese flute. It's my favorite song on the new disc for some odd reason . . .

Why did I post this? This thread looked all lonely and such, what with only Spook's post and all.

Ah, my post isn't lonely anymore. Look, it's got some more friends coming soon... hopefully.

Platinum recording act and irreverant jokesters the Bloodhound Gang have launched their new merchandise line, ReadyWear via the band's website at bloodhoundgang.com.

The line presently consists of t-shirts which feature images from the official Homeland Security website augmented with the group's own captions. Frontman Jimmy Pop who concedes he's "always one to find humor in the
wrong places" stumbled upon ready.gov, a website which was designed in order to educate the American public on what to do in the event of a biological,
chemical, or nuclear attack.

The shirts come in a range of colors and are offered at $10 each. In keeping with the government's themes, the tees come in 3 designs:

"French People" is a takeoff of the graphic used to assist in identifying symptons associated with a
chemical attack.

"Billie Jean Is Not My Lover" alludes to what actions to
take in case of a nuclear explosion.

"Texas Is The Reason" was inspired by the design regarding a radiation threat or "dirty bomb."

When asked why they opted for this sort of themed garb, the Bloodhound Gang merely stated "Last year, Paris runways bubbled over with polka dots, this year, terrorism will be the tendance du moment!"

Incubus has announced that they are parting ways with founding member and bassist Dirk Lance because of "creative differences." Said singer Brandon Boyd, "We, as a band, would love to express our gratitude towards Dirk for an amazing 12 years of artistry and dedication. He was and will remain a valuable asset to the history of this band." Apparently the decision was made after the band finished the tour for its most recent album, MORNING VIEW. Ben Kenney, former guitarist for The Roots, will replace Lance on bass.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Limp Bizkit has finally chosen a replacement for former bassist Wes Borland. Mike Smith, former guitarist for Snot, will take the slot. "We really like jamming with Mike," Bizkit-head Fred Durst said. "He's dope. This you will find out soon enough."
Just because some of my friends had those doesnt mean Im old. Or they are either. I saw Def Leppard in concert in Reading Pa not to long ago. And I cant stand I will miss them in Philly. Besides until you listen to Opearation Mindcrime by Queensryche you wouldnt understand. Its a rock opera. One story line through all the songs.
Excuse me while I get my walker and change my depends.
One-Winged Angel. Yes, for the first time. Now I need to get my hands on the numerous remixes, arranges, and orchestrated versions.
