Heres your clues...
It was mid late 80's. It involved a light gun that worked with a VCR game. The enemies in the game had flashing chests that caused seizures. This was pre-pre pokemon. And it was Captain something.
Come on Nobu i have faith that such little info will cause you to make me remember |

Its not Berserk and its not DDR. Remember this was a while ago when video games were looking like Zelda 1 on the NES. So a filmed game for the VCR was popular |

FACT: In 1987, Mattel somewhat duplicated the Action Max functions in it's "Captain Power" action figure toy line. Both figures and toy vehicles fired an infrared beam that gave off the impression that you were shooting the onscreen characters of the Captain Power cartoon show. Similarly the cartoon could also generate the same infrared beams that could trigger springs in the toy vehicles. These springs responded and gave the impression that the toy was actually shot. An innovative toy that Mattel sold into 1988 |
My mind kept saying Captain Planet. But it was Captain Power. And I dont believe it needed a console. The description looks that way. Now to look on ebay for it |

I don't think they did, either. The description in the link was for the "Action Max" console, which worked along similar lines.
The Captain Power toys are described here. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Holy crap, I had one of those jets when I was a kid. I thought it was so cool the way the pilot's seat would eject after a certain number of "hits". I don't think I had any of the action figures though, so I just used He-Man or GI-JOE in them, I think. I also didn't have a second jet or can even remember using my jet with the TV series much. I do remember pointing the jet at a hallway mirror and pushing the "fire" button until the seat ejected.
I think I stopped using it about a week or two after that. |

My brother gave me one, and it's pretty spiffy. 1 GB of space, baby! I haven't gotten to play around with the searching features yet, though. _________________ Krogoth uses Berserk.

Bono, DDR hasn't killed anyone yet because most people who arn't physicaly fit don't play. As for you, I think you should've learned your lesson by now. If not it's stupidity, not DDR, that will kill you.
And sesizures caused by flashing lights is not uncommon, deaths from seizures arn't uncommon either. _________________ To do two things at once is to do neither. —Publilius Syrus, Roman slave, first century B.C. |
