There are a couple of shows on Adult Swim that are pretty cool. Either they are new or old or current, we know we love our adult swim anime. Here post your favorite shows and what is it about them that you love very much. _________________ You came from the sky, right! From up there. - Unknown. Might be from The Gundam Series.

Post subject: Beefy's opinions about recent [as] anime shows

Fullmetal Alchemist: Lives up to the hype. I'm looking forward to the second half. Winry has a wrench and she's dangerous.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Saito and the Tachikomas are my favorite characters. I like the show because it's a crime drama and also a view of what the future might be like.
FLCL: Robots, guitars, The Pillows, crazy stuff happens. What more do you need?
Paranoia Agent: Too early to tell, but so far so good.
Samurai Champloo: I wouldn't call it "the next Bebop", but still fun to sit back and enjoy the ride.
s-CRY-ed: Too early to tell, but pretty mediocre so far.
InuYasha: Back in 2001 when it first started I looked forward to watching it every week. The story was fresh and it was the next big thing. Nowadays there's too much filler and the story seems to be dragging. Now that we're out of fillerland for the moment, let's see if the series can recapture some of its former glory.
Case Closed: I enjoy a good mystery and I'm sad that [as] will not be getting more episodes. Case Closed doesn't have much rewatchability, after I've seen the episodes 2-3 times, I'm bored with them.
Big O: the second half was merely ok, but could have been better. Wasted potential.
Cowboy Bebop & Trigun: classics. Watch them, buy them, love them. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

Inuyasha: This show switches between good and mediocre (mostly the filler episodes are the latter), but I watch it every so often.
Lupin III & Case Closed: These shows broke the barriers of predictability for me. I could usually guess a joke/plot twist before the punchline is delivered, but these shows totally took me by surprise at the end. I wish CN had ordered more seasons, though. These were Adult Swim's funniest anime shows. They shouldn't have been cancelled so quickly.
Trigun: If a series mixes western motion pictures with science fiction and tons of gunplay... Hell, I'm all for it!
Kikaider: Maybe not Adult Swim's best anime, but I loved the dark mood and intriguing plot (the TV series anyway; the OVA wasn't that great).
FLCL: A crazy mind-trip on steroids and caffeine. There's really nothing else to say about this great OVA.
Fullmetal Alchemist: I've been really digging this series since it premiered on Adult Swim. I can't wait for the second season.
Samurai Champloo: You want a plot? Who cares? We've got SAMURAI! And prostitutes!
Paranoia Agent: Whoa. This is a crazy mind trip of a show. It's sometimes hard to pull off a mixture of animation and psychological thriller without stinking *coughcouragecough* and this is a very well-done exception. _________________ Toonami visual schedule - UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2015 |

From the new ones, probably Paranoia agent. I'm excited to see an anime not focused upon action, and the animation is interesting. I liked the hallucinations ichi (was that his name?) had about going to school after lil slugger attacked the other candidate. The series looks promising so far.
From the old ones, cowboy bebop. I didn't watch AS much until now, and when I did I only watched a show or two, but cowboy bebop was always my favorite. Awesome soundtrack, great characters, sounds like a winner. |

Favorite shows:
1. Samurai Champloo ( the action and animation in it.)
2. Trigun ( Vash is real funny in this.)
3. S-CRY-ed ( The plot is interesting)
4. Inuyasha ( Really I only like the first 80 episodes then the show started to repeat, like the Wind Scar not working.)
In that order. _________________ Idiots are here to make the rest of the world look smart.

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C is definitely my current favorite. It's just so...immersive(besides the fact that I'm a sci fi/techno anime junkie). After that, it has to be s-CRY-ed(with FMA at a close third). |

Samurai Champloo is the main reason I watch each week, fluid animation turns me on...
S~cry~ed is getting better finnaly. They filled in some much needed backstory and are fleshing out a few characters better. The show is nothing spectacular or inovative, but it's enough to hold my interest to want to see the end. Only pet peeve is trying to deal with Steve Blum doing both Kazuma in this series and Mugen in the former.
Inuyasha is also on an upswing. It's sort of amusing that both Inuyasha and other shows like Stargate SG-1 are doing this "the ultimate evil is represented by purity and light" or evil hiding behind a shroud of holyness thing. You see it even in games like FF where the second to last stage will be akin to Hell and then the final stage is destroying a false god in a place akin to heaven. Anyway, the show is getting good with some fresh villains and hopefully Rumiko learned how to make a good ending for once.
FLCL: I shut off the TV when this comes on because it reminds me of my ex and because its only 6 eps long...6 eps I've seen far too many times. _________________ Bang. |
