See it.
What are you still doing here?
No rush out find an Imax and see it!
No Imax? Find it on a normal screen

Great special efx. They didnt mess with much of the canon. Great acting from all characters maybe except for Rachel. Well she was just plain outclassed by who was around her. Awesome gizmos and gimmicks.

Not toyorific which is saying something. And yes i know there are toy tie-ins. But we arent talking about pushing them in your face like Star Wars does.

How to drop Batman into defined modern times and make him fit in. One sequence with him showing up on a CNN like channel, with a classic line from alfred, shows what it would be like to drop Bats in our times. The score didnt overpower the movie either.

Do not read reviews, spoilers, or articles online that will give plot points. Allow yourself to be suprised. If you do this when the last scene shows what the sequel will be. You will still be suprised by it.

This is not a prequel. This is a new beginning for the series. This is important to know. As much as I wanted to see a live action Batman Beyond, which was being developed at the same time as this was, im glad year 1 won out. Before the credits roll at the end it simply puts up "Batman Begins" in small basic type on the screen. They revived a dead series. They actually undid the damage Schumacher did to the series.

All I will say is that it was great. I think I may go and see it again...

Saw it for a second time tonight and did catch things i missed.

One thing i hadnt missed. Do you think Wayne Manor was cold at the end? (dont give its condition) Because Ms Holmes appears to be freezing with her missiles ready to launch or she at least was braless.

I thought Gotham City was well done. There weren't any of those ugly statues like there were in Batman and Robin.

I agree that Katie Holmes was upstaged by everyone else.

The bat mobile's attack mode seemed more complicated than it needed to be, but other than that, good stuff.

The newspaper page about Wayne Manor and Bruce's two European friends were quite amusing.

Now I just need to see Star Wars...

Well your better off just imagining what you think StarWars episode three should be like. Just make this awesome movie in your head with lightsabre battles. Put in a lot of huge space fights. Have a man slowly decending into madness and then becoming vader after an epic battle with his master.

Seeing the real thing is really disappointing

I thought this was indeed a worthy succesor to the Batman movies. Finally, a batman film that doesn't look like vomit under a black light at a techno rave.
