1) Good catch, it is back!
2) Fixed. It was a fallout of me merging the TDA/ASF download script. I'm sure there are other problems from this as well.
3) You've got me. The strange part is that the server IS sending the length. (Using wget, a unix download utility, verifies that it is getting the number.) I don't know why it doesn't show up in the browsers. I'll look into it, but I make no promises.
Keep those bug reports coming!
Thanks
Ryan

Some minor new server issues that probably only I notice and/or care about:
1) Our beloved 404 error page is M.I.A.
2) The counters on ASF that show how many times a video has been downloaded don't seem to be working. The counters on TDA work fine.
3) When downloading a video file off the old server the web browser's download manager/window would show how big the file was. On the new server when downloading a video file the web browser's download manager/window shows "unknown" for the file size.
Screencaps available upon request. That is all. |

Thank you for fixing the 404 page and the ASF download counter.
As for the file size readings:
IE knows the file size after it finishes downloading, but while downloading it says unknown.
Mozilla doesn't know the file size while downloading, and after downloading it says the file was 1KB.
Not a big deal, but puzzling nonetheless. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

For some reason, I'm not able to download anything anymore. I get to the end of the download and Quicktime gives me an unknown error message. This started after the 10/27 update. ANy ideas folks? My quicktime seems to work just fine otherwise. |

Are you downloading the file to your hard drive, or are you trying to play the video in your web browser? _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

I tried downloading it to my hard drive and that seems to work, though I miss being able to open it directly from my browser. |

the server may not be able to handle streaming media. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? |

I just did a test of the "Report a Promo" forms on TDA and ASF. The submissions are showing up with a date of November 01st, 2004. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."
