So, as an avid Ben Folds fan, I pre-ordered his new CD just now. I'm betting most of you don't care. Doesn't matter. Anyway, along with my preorder came a free download of a special version of Ben's new single, Landed.
And this download could only be aquired with IE (Ick, I feel dirty for having it open for the 20 seconds that it had to be open. With over 20% of people using Firefox now, why are things not made compatible for it?) I tried to open it in iTunes, since iTunes is kinky, and I get a message that asks if I would like to convert said file from .WMA to .MP3.
Well, that's a no brainer. Much better to have all my music as one file type, in my opinion. And iTunes can't play WMAs anyway. Convert away, iTunes-Man!

What's this? A new message? Oh joy! Whenever iTunes gives me a message, it is filled with liquid joy and gumdrops and rainbows and puppies! iTunes has never let me down! . . . And yet, here is a message, alerting me to the fact that the aforementioned WMA file is protected, and so it cannot be converted.
Fucking RIAA. First off, let me just get that out there.
I don't want to share this song. I want to be able to listen to it. It's MY precious. I don't like using Windows Media Player to play my music. It's not kinky like iTunes. WMP is not suited to play any of my Preciouses. It's to WINDOWS to get that priviledge.
This is a really long story simply for the sake of asking if there is any way around this protection. I just want it as an mp3, damnit. So, anyone know a program that could do my desired task? _________________ anime is teh s uck

Nevermind. Tunrs out you can burn the song using Windows Media Player, and then rip it with iTunes and it's automatically converted. T hank god for CD-RWs. _________________ anime is teh s uck
