This site is dumb. Everyone is being an asshole to me for no reason at all. Yu-gi-oh, the show is nothing--it is gay. it is the card game which is the most popular card game and is going to be more successful than magic. I'm 14. I think the show sucks; its all about the card game. And Bono, or what ever your name is: you have some serous problems, and I think you better go get some help.

Many people think this about me. The Yu-Gi-Oh card game has a fundimental flaw: it's simple. Far too simple for its own good. At least pokemon had possibilities. Yu-Gi-Oh requires very little strategy in comparison to most other CCGs (Battletech, Star Wars (the original Decipher version), Magic), and the only way to make anything interesting is to ramp up the power level in rares and later sets. This makes the game bland and overcosted--it won't last more than five years. And Yu-Gi-Ohs's popularity is currently in decline in the CCG world, as it's lack of room for creativity in design, cost, and age are becoming more appearant. Added to this is the factor that any CCG aimed towards children plays: they start playing other, "grown up" CCGs. I have nothing against Yu-Gi-Oh. Like Pokemon, it's done wonderful things for the industry (although Pokemon was a hell of a lot better in game and show). Everyone has to start somewhere.

This isn't even worth correcting. I'm deeply moved that you would care about this bored, and the value you place on others respecting your opinion, enough to coninue posting here, despite all the flak you're getting. You just ahve a tendency to be... flammable. Settle down, type a little more methodically.

Let the off-topic rampage begin.....or better yet ensue. On the ccg matter: if it's a ccg i'll play it regardless of what it's based off of. Now I wonder if duelist boy is gonna hang around a little longer?

Y'know, it's not just grammer that must be corrected in a piece, but semantics and connotation as well.

This message board is of poor quality. Those who have spoken to me in a derogatory manner are acting in a fashion sharing many qualities of those possessing low intelligence, despite their lack of supportive evidence towards their pejorative claims. Yu-Gi-Oh!, the animated television series, is of poor quality and, as such, I pay it no mind. The collectable card game based upon the aforementioned television series is the most popular game of it's kind, and shall surpass "Magic: The Gathering," another collectable card game, in regards to longevity and capital gain for its creators. And to the member of this board identified by the name "Bono," or to any of the aliases you may identify yourself as: you are afflicted by severe psycological traumae and should seek the guidance of a professional psycological care specialist.

That just took me long enough, so I won't correct yours, Bono. I'd get "typer's cramp." Wink

umm i have played magic and pokemon. pokemon is the most dumb game i have ever played. that game has no stragie at all. i like magic that has a lot of stragtie. then there yugioh, have u ever played yugioh? its just like magic but a little different and its more fun. at least u dont lose your cards when playing yugioh. in pokemon u lose 6 cards or u gain 6 cards if u win or u can win and still lose cards ether way it sucks, imo that sucks yugioh card game has more sratgie and is more popular and will continue to be. in japan yugioh has been popular for 9 years so far. then pokemon it starts out good and drops like a rock. no one likes pokemon anymore. and thank you Rycel yugioh will surpass magic and already has blowen away pokemon. all u other homos and go and become a pokemon master

Hey have you ever seen something on your board of keys resembling...let's say

This?

You really should try pressing it. If you do magical things will start happening, like people not thinking that you're four years old.

The "gaining" and "losing" cards you speak of is when playing for ante. Most casual players in any format don't play ante, and I advise being leery of anyone who does. The Pokemon CCG's lack of popularity is not because of the advent of Yu-Gi-Oh--it was dying long before that. Pokemon was simply a fad, and I suspect Yu-Gi-Oh itself to be a fad. I believe Pokemon to have more strategy because there is a larger variety of ways to win the game, and has a more effective cost system. If every card besides creatures in Magic: The Gathering had a cost of 2 mana, the game wouldn't be nearly as exciting, and would have a lot fewer possibilities for what could be done with a non-creature card. Merely limiting the number of cards played a turn is not enough; cards that gain control of a creature (such as Change of Heart), or cards trhat outright destroy another card as per effect are almost pure card advantage. There is no way to balance a game like this. Imagine if Wizards of the Coast pronted Ancestral Recall, Black Lotus, or Lightning Bolt in the next MTG set.
Yu-Gi-Oh also lacks another major component: the inability to include any card you want in your deck. Without having colors or sides, or anything of the sort, players have access to all the cards printed in the game for any deck. Need a powerhouse? Just throw it in. In most other CCGs, certain things a side or color can and cannot do are divied around (in MTG, they call this the color wheel). To demonstrate this, completely ignore colored mana in the game of MTG, and put together a deck as if every colored mana were generic instead. All of the sudden there is a lot less reaction between strategies, and a lot more of who can afford the best rares (Swords to Plowshares does not belong in a Goblin deck).

Well, that's it for class today. Homework is at least one game of Magic, one game of Yu-Gi-Oh, and one game of Pokemon.

I like the part where, even though Nobu is a good Truffleofogous and repeats my words, everyone ignored them. That's the part I like. What with me being a mod and all.

Look, the instant this guy joined everyone jumped on his back. I've done that to other people in the past. It's not good. Leave him alone.

That's right, I am on Master Duelist's side. Stop attacking him. Thank you.
