Kenshin and Berserk Boxes Delayed
If you're like me and have ordered either the Kenshin Empty Artbox or the Berserk Empty Artbox, then we've got a bit of bad news. Media Blasters is having trouble meeting the high demand for these two, so they'll be arriving a bit late. There shouldn't be much of a delay, but we'll definitely keep you posted.

As a side note, the full Kenshin Boxset and Berserk Boxset are not affected by this delay; they should both arrive on November 18th as planned.

Every video release in essence is a waste when you get right down to it.
It's the nature of our rampant-consumerism-based society. Even these new edition DVD's will be obsolete in a few years.
So the question you have to ask yourself is, "Is it worth it?"
As for me, I'm staying with my SDF Macross boxset.

TENCHI MUYO GXP VOL 1 BOX SET DVD SRP: $34.98

The blurb at Diamond Comics' monthly update lists a running time of 180 minutes, a figure I find highly suspect. Razz

:add: And once again, I was right! That should bring my average over the "Mendoza line"... Smile
Lance again, this time from ANN's forums wrote:
Tenchi Muyo GXP Vol 1 is not 180 minutes. Somebody posted that on the board and they didn't get the facts correct. I don't where they found that info.

The first volume has 5 episodes or 125 minutes.

Please spread the correction around.

Thanks

Disney has confirmed the delay of this year's Walt Disney Treasures releases. Previously scheduled for December 2nd, The Chronological Donald Volume 1 (1934-1941), Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 2, Tomorrowland: Disney in Space and Beyond, and Walt Disney On the Front Lines are now all slated for a May 18th, 2004 appearance. Disney's explanation for the delay is unexpected consumer demand that could not be met on the original release date.

More info regarding Kiddy Grade and GXP.
Grrr.

http://www.animeondvd.com/news/article.php?article_view=69
Quote:
Based on fan and retailer feedback and other factors:

Kiddy Grade and Tenchi Muyo! GXP will be 24.98.

The retail price for the majority of anime titles is 29.98.

Five dollars less than the average price of an anime dvd. They will be released in 8 volumes, 6 weeks between each release. The first volume of Kiddy Grade will be released in February and the last volume will be released in November.

When pricing all 8 volumes of Kiddy Grade at 24.98 retail, it is 40 dollars less than an 8 volume series at 29.98, 10 dollars less than a 7 volume series at 29.98 and 20 dollars more than a 6 volume series at 29.98. It's in the middle.

At the new price, you can pick up the current volume on sale for around an new Andrew Jackson bill or less.
