Very Happy I discovered DBZ and Dragonball through my kids about two years ago. I am a cheap a$$ and used to record the episodes. This question may have been asked before, but I could not find it using a search.

Will DBZ ever air again on Toonami or Cartoon Network? DBGT is lame, and I just don't find any entertainment in it. I have never seen the early DBZ shows (Saiyan saga through Frieza Saga). Do I have to break out the wallet to see these episodes? I pray I don't, but that is my cheapnesss coming through.

Im sure it will. But right now its on a much needed break from CN. As much as I would like to see it come back to. I think it needs a couple month break. But im sure Nobu will be in here soon to say

"DragonballZ is currently owned by Fox"
or
"Starting September 1st at 4:33pm EST the shows will start with episode 102"

Hes good for that

If either of those statements were true, sure. Wink

I was thinking about the goodness that is Outlaw Star today, actaully. Isn't there a sequeal being made/aired in Japan?

As for Dragon Ball (The only showed the fight between Goku and Tien once and I missed the middle episode of that fight and I am maddened as it is one of the best fights in all of the Dragon Ball universe . . . ) and DBZ, really, they need a break. I'm sure they'll return in, at most, a year or two. Those shows usher in whole new ages of fans. It's how I got interested in Toonami, Cartoon Network, AND anime in general, so to just sit on that show and never air it ever again, that would make CN stupider than they are.

That turned out to be false.
From Morning Star Studio, where the rumor apparently started:
Quote:
OutlawStar 2 is the new work of the comics.
It is thinking about the sequel of the interrupted comics and short stories.
An enemy is the son of the professor Nugyen.
Then, Melfina of darkness.

Though I am sorry, there is no project of the second season of the animation of OutlawStar at present.
But, it is very happy that there is popularity with USA for us production staff.
The Sunrise company which is the partner who produced an animation has a feeling that it wants to make the second season.
But, I want that thought to be still very little possibility.
Because, though comics became 250000 copies of hits in Japan, the animation of the outlaw star are 20000 small hits.
It has the possibility of the second season to the video that more than 30000 sold in Japan. But, this work was accepted abroad.
The fan of the foreign countries increases the possibility of the sequel little by little at present.
I begin this wonderful story first as the comics again!
It is praying that they begin a new adventure on the television again!

So it was basically a story concept for a manga.

i know the first episode of outlaw star was airing on the "adult swim" section of comcast's 'on demand' feature, but i dunno if the show will ever get another run on the actual network...bandai actually did a cool thing with the dvd's though: only three volumes with two dvd's in each, so it's a little easier to digest than the usual 26 episode series investment...

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I need to check out Outlaw Star as well. Any other anime action shows you'd recommend?

Time to dig through the old threads to find where i asked that faithful question. The answer lead me to netflix. And i've never been right in the head since.

But lets narrow the list down.

Do you like

A) action (DBZ, Fist of the North Star)
B) Giant Robots (Macross, Gundam, 1 million other animes)
C) anime porn (you add your own titles)
D) old school animation style (cyborg 009)
E) New school call it post Akira style (this one has its own categories)
F) Long involved story lines with lots of talking (see Hack/Sign)
G) A series that has 100's of episodes and stretches over many time lines. Where you can get to like the characters and just stick with it for years (Robotech, Gundam, Dragonball)
H) Girls in school girl uniforms (no wait thats all of them)
I) Movies with Demons and a lot of gore
J) Hamtaro, SD Gundam, Pokemon (really these two are off by themselves)

FYI to anyone looking for Outlaw Star. I just purchased the entire box set for $15 and change on half.com It's a site run by e-bay. I also saw the complete box set of Cowboy Bebop for around $20, both of these prices include shipping. Considering the normal price was around $70 I say it is a good deal. Hope this helps anyone, cause Outlaw Star kicks major Starwind !!
