Yeah. It's not very well-known yet, though. It needs time... I know you can get it with DirecTV, but that's all I heard about it from someone who DOES have the channel.

Eh not really I have Direct TV and I don't get it , but when I went to the northeast this summer they had it. It's called G4 and has been around for a while now which is why I'm surprised you've never heard of it. It has only a few shows now a few of which are a reviews show, reruns of a 70's arcade game show, and a really awesome one that showcases animated Cut Scenes and trailers from newer games.

I'm excited about this 24-hour Anime Network, IMHO. It gives us all a reason to no longer be jealous that the UK got CNX before we did. And now we're getting something extremely similar of our own.
And for those who think it won't last long because "it'll only display ADV's titles," well, give it a second thought. ADV will just HAVE to try and make deals with other anime companies (even if they're competition) so they won't run low so quickly.
I know the Ocean Group would DEFINITELY take the bait (like they do on just about every other deal they're offered), and I'm pretty sure Bandai would, too. And since Cartoon Network is rejecting everything that FUNimation offers them except Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho, I'm pretty sure that ADV would give FUNi a second chance to televise their other stuff on TAN. Saban has been hacked to bits by Di$ney (thank God!), so screw them. DiC? Probably. I wouldn't count on it, but it's a possibility, even if it's just a slight one. (After all, they've had some successes in the past like the video game-based cartoons, Samurai Pizza Cats, and the recent acquisitions they gave to Nickelodeon like Speed Racer X on their SLAM block and the Inspector Gadget movie.) 4Kids? Good god, NO! Let them have their own fun on the Fox Box and Kids' WB!; it's just not worth taking a risk.

It's surprising that america is going to be the first to acctually get a channel like this, seeing that japan hasn't come close to a 24hour channel.

well, yes, the channel is called G4. I have AT&T digital cable, and it's on channel 136 for me. It's all about reviews, previews, online playing, and there is even a whole show dedicated to cheat codes. I wonder is they will show all of the tenchi series one day like a marathon on the anime network. that would be pretty cool. Man am i glad that i don't have to hear people whining that they don't have an anime channel.

I think the 24/7 video game channel came out back in April(sorry, forgot the name of the channel). It has a couple of shows dedicated to the different facets of video games(previews, reviews, interviews, competitions, classic video games, behind the scenes, etc...). As for the upcoming anime channel...WOW! Can you imagine being able to watch BGC 2040 and NGE every day, without having to own the DVDs(besides all the other cool ADV dubbed anime, like Blue Seed)?

Anime Channel will finally come about ...
Well, the channel's coming at a much welcome timing and enthusiasm. With the greater raise of interest in the US toward anime. oh dear lord... the spelling... THE SPELLING!!!! *runs around screaming and colapses into a corner crying* just make it stop... anyway, if the anime network is anything other than basic cable CN will have no problems whatsoever. If it is basic cable, CN might very well be screwed. but I doubt it very much, they will just put even more effort into their original series and aquisitions. I still have to say I like collecting them on dvd, but it'll be a weight of savings as well to have the channel,and the none stop recordings on tape.

One thing that worries me is that those b@stard Christian(like the AFA, or the Mormons) groups may try to block the channel- and with the dang Republicans in control now...
