Post subject: KaZaA Alternative

I know I saw something about a good alternative to KaZaA somewhere and I think it was here but I can't remember and I can't find it.
ANYway, for the purpose of acquireing un-released Ben Folds tracks and other such non-buyable goodies, I need a program like KaZaA that won't load Gator onto my machine and won't make P2P software automatically load everytime I turn on my machine. (I just got a new laptop, ran AdAware, and it found 10 things. TEN after LESS THAN TEN HOURS OF USE. All I had downloaded at the time was AIM, Firefox, AdAware, Flashplayer, and a UT2K4 patch.)
Last time I installed KaZaA on my old shitbox machine, it took me a week to figure out how to turn the computer on and have it operate enough for me to disaple the f***ing P2P software long enough to uninstall said software.
SO, any suggestions?

Soulseek is good, but seems to have a much, MUCH smaller selection than KaZaA did. And KaZaAlite needs payment. If I'm gonna pay then I'll live off iTunes. Especially with my non credit-card-itude as of yet.

kazaa lite needs no payment, where did you get that from?
I pay for nothing. Maybe the one available on websites needs pay, but i got it a long time ago when it was free. ANd i always keep the setup file ust in case. All of my friends and I use Kazaa lite.

not a victim really since it is a good version, perhaps old but still good.
