Who here has the common sense to tape Anime shows off the TV? Sure there edited (most of them are), but come on! If you can live without the extra 2 minuets of vulgarity, sex-related babble, and extreme violence, then tape! Help me so that i may see those who are like me, an Anime obsessed child who's VCR is running 24/7

I would hook my All-In-Wonder card up to the cable and record shows, but there's nothing on that would justify doing that. When I get back to college and have both coax and ethernet in the same room, (especially now that I have room on my HD) I'll probably set it to record the Daily Show. But at that point, I'll have access to more anime than I'll know what to do with, so there's no point in me recording off CN.

Better Question: Who here has the common sense to Download Fansubs a week after they're released? Sure they may be slightly... well... wait, I can't find a problem with fansubs! Razz

I tape anime off the TV. In case I missed it earlier on Adult Swim, or if there's a new show airing at an ungodly hour in the morning *coughEnergonat6:30AMcough*, I grab out the good ol' tape. There's no use trying to get up at that time. Doing so is evil.

Also with Paperon this. The only things I taped off TV were Gundam Wing and maybe a couple episodes of Tenchi other than that all the VHS tapes were not worth the time to buy or to sync. I'd rather spend the actualy money to get a much higher quality program without commercials than waste my time and money making tapes.

As for Fansubs I only get maybe 25% of my anime through that way. There's a moral standard I try to abide by because if there weren't people like me who actualy bought the shit then no one would be too happy, now would they?

Lol, Gotta love Fansubs. But I do try and buy them as soon as they hit the US. As for taping I do that when it's on too late for me or when I won't be home

Amen zechs. Most of my anime is fansubbed but when I have enough cash, i'll just buy a dvd boxset. Granted, fansubs are free but just not up to par with DVDs/extras.

Yeah Extras always make me want to get the DVD's. Some strange reason I love looking at Interviews...

I love interviews too. And some commentary. I love knowing what the creators where thinking when they made my favorite stuff. And some of hte funny anecdotes regarding the making of some stuff. Like how Jhonen Vasquez thought the Nickelodeon studios were too happy, so he ordered special gels to put on the windows that were supposed to make the sunlight blood-colored. Ended up turning everything pink.

After 7 years of watching offical and fan subbed anime, I really don't have a problem with reading. Plus, I've picked up on enough of the japanese language that I can tell what they are saying for the most part. So reading is therefore a plus! Very Happy

I'll go for fansubs to see an anime. I generally delete them after I watch them once. The exceptions occur when I deem the show to be awesome. Then I'll usually keep the fansub on my comp, and as soon as I can buy the legal version, I do. It's not the extras that compel me to do this. I want to support the good anime the only way I can. If it's worth the money to me, I'll gladly pay the people who made it available.
