Basically, the Japanese LaserDisc versions of episodes 21-26 (some revised footage and dialogue), as opposed to the broadcast TV versions we've been watching for years...
Other, better-informed Eva fanatics, feel free to chime in.

ADV Updates on Dunbine (01:10 PM EST): Having a hard time finding Dunbine Vol. #5 at a retailer? Well, ease your concern because it looks like it's been bumped. And not just lightly. Volume #5, according to Right Stuf, will now street on 04/20/2004. Dunbine Vol. #6 and the Dunbine Box Set are now scheduled for an 06/08/2004 release.

Considering that Dunbine #5 was set to street according to the press releases and retailer listings back on 12/30/2003, and it's now been three weeks since then, "disappointing" doesn't cover how poorly this bump back was handled by ADV.

ADV Launches "Anime Essentials" (01:02 PM EST): Not to be left out in the rush to reprice some titles and give it its own title, ADV Films has set their Anime Essentials lineup to start in March. Due out then are Curse of the Undead Yoma aka Blood Reign, Ninja Resurrection and Plastic Little. All three titles retail for $19.99 and appear to be the same as the original disc releases and will street on 03/16/2004.

More on Anime Essentials from ADV Films (02:20 PM EST): In talking briefly with David Williams of ADV Films, we've been told that the new listed titles we mentioned are not just repricings. The discs have been completely reauthored with at least a new English 5.1 track being used for it and possibly some other materials. More information is to come during one of the upcoming conventions.
