It's a few days into the new server, and I'm noticing some major performance issues on my end.
Downloads don't go much faster than 50K/sec, and I end up dropping packets at an alarming rate.
I was just wondering if any of you were seeing similar speeds/slowdowns? _________________ My old sig was too long. |

Most of the time I get 4Kbps up, 60Kbps down.
When I try at 2AM Mountain Time I get 30-50Kbps up, 150-250Kbps down.
It's good enough for me. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

Works just fine for me.
Now about that Ventrilo server... _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I mentioned it before, the pages seem to render quicker, like it has lower latency or just responds faster. As for bandwidth throughput that seemed slower _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. No problems here. Had you not announced anything about the new server, I probably wouldn't have even noticed the switch... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

According to Zogg, Cogent paths to the server are perfectly fine, while Level3 paths are screwed up.
I'm working with HiVelocity to get it fixed. Hopefully it'll be within the 30-day guarantee. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

Well, I was getting the same issues back on Friday and Saturday. However, today both my home cable connection (Cox) and my college's connection (OneNet) seem to render the pages quickly. I'm gonna clear my cache and then try the downloads. I'll let you know how that turns out. |

I haven't gotten the redirection error yet. Let's see if that keeps up. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

You're right. I haven't had that in a long time (5 days). Lets see if it holds up. Also, the site still loads slower than it did previously, but its not dropping packets. |

My forum browsing seems uneventfully, not changed. Let me hose the server for a few megs and see what happens. _________________ To do two things at once is to do neither. —Publilius Syrus, Roman slave, first century B.C. |

Changes made to server configuration.
Please try to max us out. We're watching our bandwidth graph and hoping we get our full 10Mbps. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

Vent doesn't use that much bandwidth. If it did, you wouldn't have people still on 56k using it and gaming at the same time. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Some minor new server issues that probably only I notice and/or care about:
1) Our beloved 404 error page is M.I.A.
2) The counters on ASF that show how many times a video has been downloaded don't seem to be working. The counters on TDA work fine.
3) When downloading a video file off the old server the web browser's download manager/window would show how big the file was. On the new server when downloading a video file the web browser's download manager/window shows "unknown" for the file size.
Screencaps available upon request. That is all. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."
