1) Go to a comic book shop, not Barnes & Noble (or whatever).
2) They're not Japanese. Your vision is too narrow. Wink

I really enjoyed Ah! My Goddess, and Love Hina. Real Bout High School is my favorite in print manga. Candidate for Goddess and Saikano are both coming to manga this year so be prepared for that to change.

I do own quite a few graphic noverls, and I buy them all at book stores. I just haven't heard of the ones you speak of. I have never seen them at those bookstores, and they are probobly not there, becuase every time I go, I very thouroughly look over their selection to see if theres anything new or something I missed before. There are no comic stores in my area with the exception of one. That one has practically no manga, and the stuff they do have are the comic books, not the GNs. I buy GNs. They are better. I am merely saying that the manga you speak of has not yet come into my line of sight. Which makes me sad.

Once you know what you're looking for, you can special-order them:

Groo

Cerebus

Holy Crap! yes it is.

I also found a auction (which I'm pissed off I didn't have the money for) of 1,500 comics for 150 bucks plus something like 100 dollars shipping. 250 bucks for 1,500 comics is a phenomenal deal.

On the shelf I have

Ranma 1/2 Vols.1-4
Samurai Deeper Kyo Vols.1-3
Megatokyo Vol.1
Brain Powered Vol.1
Love Hina Vol.1
and Dragon Hunter Vol.1

Ranma is by far my favorite with Kyo second, and having only read one volume Love Hina is third. Brain Powered and Dragon Hunter I got with a "Buy Two Get One Free" deal along with Kyo. Both turned out to not be as good.

and MT is just awesome on it's own^_^

I keep on telling myself to buy Ranma, but I either forget or its not there. They never seem to have the right volumes at the right time. It makes me sad.
